Green Information

Information is coming at us these days from all directions, but for the largest part it comes from the internet. This information can be a wonderful insight into places of our world that we would have never come in contact with. Other times the information found must be taken with a grain of salt. What can you trust and how do you know?

For the most part, information is gathered by many of us and passed on to another that will listen. We learned this in elementary school, and we also found out as we grew older that the good knowledge somehow changes in meaning as it is passed down. It was not the purpose of the individual to change the context, but often times this is what we found out as we grew up. Somewhere along the way, we all figured out as we matured how to filter and make sense of it all.

As adults, we are inundated with more information than we can sometimes process. We find ourselves going with the first reaction to our exposures and not doing the research that the situation really requires. This is what is happening with “GREEN” information so many times. This is why the term “Green Washing” has come into existence.

When it comes to Green cleaning, a large percentage of end users do not know the real purpose of why they are using Green products in the first place. Just recently, a lady told me that she couldn’t afford a $200 unit that uses no chemicals. It was too much money. I asked why, and she said that she saved money and used all natural products in her home to keep her family safe.

My point is this. Just like most of us, she did not understand that there are residual impacts from these “natural products” as well as others, creating health costs that are taking money out of our wallets. We only look at the initial cost and focus on the money, and we forget about the real cost of our health being the more important issue.

In your search for knowledge, be mindful that you must temper your awareness with wisdom. I remark to clients continually not to believe what I say until I can prove it. Be diligent in your efforts to “Do the right thing” and when you have found that your awareness is golden, then exchange it in the most accurate method possible.
